Not Rihanglo when she just sold out a stadium in Chile. Has Taylor ever set a foot in South America besides that Brazilian show or she couldn't stand being somewhere where people don't worship her like zombies?
fun fact: she only toured two non-English speaking countries: Japan and Germany. Katy meanwhile will go to Argentina and Brazil soon, after touring the US, Australia, Asia besides Japan, etc. Katy sold as much as her outside the US despite having her music on Spotify
fun fact: she just finished a show in Amsterdam and dates for the rest of south asia are coming in 2016 Why has Katy being the global icon she is failed to sell more albums than Taylor in her home country as well as as a whole? how come the same is true before spotify ever existed?
except, as album sales and tour receipts and singles she's huge in Europe, Latin America, Africa and the middle east, much more than USAlor could dream of?
It's near 2.5M outside States more so now, but Rihanna's last album sold around 2M outside U.S., Katy's last album sold 2.5M outside U.S., and they're considered global so how is her selling nearly 2.5M outside U.S. on her first era with Pop bad?
I don't think it's bad but I'm surprised she's not selling more outside the U.S. with Max Martin and Shellback songs. Taylor has the global sound and universal appeal yet her success is still lopsided.
Anyway, her local power will always baffle me. I do like her but I just can't see how American people can be so passionate about her--she was never serving Gaga level theatrics or Katy level hits before 1989.
Still love Style tho, female single of the year tbh
