I know that Tim Cook is employed to make executive decisions. If you want to pretend that Apple planned all this then that makes you look like a conspiracy theorist, as you have zero evidence of that.

Apple clearly didn't want the negative publicity that this media debate was about to give them. Tim Cook decided to pay the royalties for the trial period as he felt this outweighted the negative impact the coming media furore would have on Apple's image in the eyes of the GP and how it would effect the launch of their new Music streaming service. Let's not act as if Apple value their Brand highly and will try and take steps to avoid damaging it, as it will affect profits and share price.

You're actually accusing Apple of publicly lying about this whole issue based on zero evidence. Do you even understand how executive decisions work. The social media cycle works 24/7 to spread breaking news. CEOs have to make quick decisions in response to negative stories and limit PR damage. Yes, they even do this on Sundays.

Tim Cook made an executive decision to change policy to head off a PR storm. Why try and invent some far-fetched convoluted explanation with zero evidence?

And Apple might've worked that way a few years ago, but they've had big chances in Leadership since then. The Apple of yesteryear is NOT the Apple of today. Remember when they publicly apologized for the Apple Maps fiasco? That was unprecedented. Apple never apologizes.

If the article was posted in the middle of the day here in California, they might've had to wait a day or two to respond. And no, they didn't instantly jump to listen, when did I say that also? When you are CEO or SVP of the largest company in the world you can be called into work at any time. Apple was in the wrong and they are doing the right thing by reversing the offending policy. This wasn't a publicity stunt. This has been a bone of contention with the labels for months.

If the GRAMMYs, a multi-million dollar production, can rearrange a whole entire global broadcast production after someone's death to 1) recruit someone to sing 2) rearrange the entire show schedule 3) announce it in the press in half a day, you BET Apple can do the same.

You guys are downplaying the very thing Apple is doing: technology.

If doctors can REMOTELY operate on patients thru a satellite connection, you damn well know Apple can make a single decision and release it to the press in 15 hours.

There were literally tens of articles after the conference that pointed out that "Shake It Off" being in the playlist didn't mean she was part of Apple Streaming because Apple Music would combine owned music/Apple Match/streaming into one app.

Their venture is integrated into the biggest music store in the world. It wasn't going to flop. Furthermore, people would quickly forget about it. A Tumblr post isn't going to make iTunes sink. Especially when its biggest competitor, Spotify, is even more renown for the criticism Taylor's blog post complained about. Taylor literally has no power over Apple.
