Whew! Just a few things I wanna say. (Since I have a gift for impartial analysis.)
1. Beyoncé IS a legend. It'll become apparent when she stops releasing. She may not be widely regarded as s "musician", but most memorable legends rarely are. Her recognition as a legendary
performer/
entertainer serve her FAR better (i.e. MJ, Tina, Elvis, Josephine Baker, etc.) for historical purposes. Usually they're more interesting to look back at. The only real "musicians" that garner widespread nostalgia are like Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and The Beatles. While entertainers kinda dominate.
2. Rihanna is ugly, trashy and a flop. But something has hit me recently (the same thing that allowed me to predict her flop) that's telling me she'll recover song wise. She'll have a hit single bigger than 45S coming up soon. The album will sill flop tho (sorry, not sorry hihi).
3. Gaga got that award the same way Rihanna did with the CFDA. As a force of hand and a collaboration between PR. Gaga is planning her comeback. Plus being a prominent and (formally) notable popstar she was a good choice for the institution. These institutions depend on the success of musicians to keep them important. Hardely is it ever warranted. For example, Taylor would have been a better recipient of that award. But they move on to the next best thing.
And that's your daily wisdom from Sunshine.
