I know how the American flag looks. I just thought y'all had a second version or something, hehe. Anyway, why are they burning it? Do you know?
The confederate flag represents the south during the civil war (the side that wanted and supported slavery). It's a symbol of oppression and hatred, so I imagine that's why they're burning it.
Not to be that guy (Oh what the hell I am that guy) The North wasnt really that racially inviting either.
It was less of a "humans shouldnt be slaves" thing, and more of a "send these nigggers back where they came from" type scene.

I never ****ed with the Confederate flag anyway.
yep
Slaves in the North didn't have it as bad as the ones down south but that's mainly because the type of work that was being done
the North was deff lighter...but a slave is still a slave
Lincoln didn't care about Blacks and only abolished slavery in the South which was technically not part of the US at the time (since they succeeded) and it was a war tactic
Slavery was still legal in the North (technically the US at this point)
Because I really need to be educated about American history as a Canadian.
Dawg you don't need to know what brand of diaper that Britney's 2nd child wore, but you know that anyway.
They don't teach world history where you live?
Here's a quote about the Haitian deportation thing from an ATRLer from the Dominican Republic. Looks like it's not about racism, but about people not following immigration laws.

Video is so biased and ignorant. We may have differences and a cultural gap, but we don't hate Haiti. Haitians have been coming and going freely to this country to commerce, work and live for decades. Some markets in this country are mostly full of Haitians merchants who sell medium-to-poor quality and used products. Just because the country now wants to regulate the migratory status of every single resident it doesn't mean we want to kick Haitians specifically, they just happen to be the majority of people with an irregular migratory status.
Want to know why this migratory regularization project is such a mess? Because most of these Haitians have been living in DR completely undocumented and born without a name from their own country. Any person born in Dominican Republic that doesn't have at least one Dominican parent is not Dominican according to our Constitution.
The regularization ran for a year, now it's over and people who didn't get their documents can be deported. That was a warning on the Plan, Article 4.
Also, even if some Domincans say dumb stuff like they are "more white" or whatever, you can call us black or mulatto if you want. We don't care. All you high-horse foreigners do is come with your little charities so you can feel a little better about yourselves because you helped poor oblivious children in third-world countries for a college credit. Then you go on with your life and think all the problems in Haiti can be solved if those racist Dominicans would just say **** you to their migratory laws and Constitution.
These comments sump the errors in that overtly simplistic video:
