They will be changing the gameplay though. I very highly doubt the antiquated ATB (turn-based) system will still be in. It'll probably be an Action RPG.

FF7 was/is amazing. The gameplay of the genre has evolved so much since then to address pacing issues, so of course it's easy to look back and complain about that. But let's be real, JRPG's were never as much about that as they were about immersing yourself in the world and the epic fantasy. The story, music, atmosphere, and overall production value in FF7 are magnificent. I replayed it recently, and it's even better than I remembered.

True. The materia system was godawful. Though I played it on an emulator after playing final fantasy X and Kingdom hearts, so ofc it would be inferior in comparison.
