I rlly want Nintendo to just have a year where they revive and revitalize a ton of classic series. The Smash games (and also amiibo as of recent) are such a great platform to globally promote series that otherwise would be p much in the dust without them (Mother/Earthbound, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, etc.), along with their flagship series, so I don't see why they aren't taking advantage of that. Ideally, this year should've had:
Star Fox: Zero (already confirmed obvsly) + Wolf Smash DLC announcement
Metroid U
New Kirby Game (either Kirby Air Ride sequel or 3D platformer)
Xenoblade X
Animal Crossing: Happy House Designer + Animal Crossing U + Animal Crossing amiibo + cards announced
Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash
New F-Zero
Super Mario Maker + Paper Mario U + Mario Tennis + Mario Kart 8 DLC announcement (either Kirby, Star Fox, Metroid, or F-Zero themed) + Super Mario amiibo wave 2 announced + Super Mario 30th anniversary amiibo announced
Fire Emblem: If + Fire Emblem: Fate + FE x SMT
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes + Hyrule Warriors 3DS
Mother 3 Wii U Virtual Console localization announced OR Earthbound 3D OR Earthbound Collection (the 3 games released for 3DS in one bundle)
WarioWare 3DS
Any assortment of like 10-12 of the games, plus a few 3rd party games, minus the developers stories + cheesy Super Mario anniversary, and sh*t would've been off and popping. But noooooooooooooooo, Nintendo stays either not knowing what their consumer base wants, or just not caring. *sighs*
