September wouldn't make any sense because of the Grammys cutoff. It'd be easier to guess timeline if we even knew where it was in production. In the hopeful theory that it's finally near completion, XL probably wants it out Q4 if they can so that they don't once again have to submit to their investors that they won't have an Adele album this year (I can see them starting to get really pissy at this point...) and both labels would surely also want to cash in on the potentially huge Christmas market. At the same time, the Q4 single Q1 album schedule has worked for her well in the past, and means less promo needs to be done around the holidays.
I feel like we've determined this three times now, though...
