I was really shocked by the aftermath of Shireen's sacrifice, everything WENT SOUTH so quickly

I don’t believe for a second Stannis died. While after what Stannis did to Shireen, I was prepared to watch him be flayed alive by Brienne and smile, why did they cut the moment of his death ? We saw Mery Trant getting killed in horrible fashion but not him ?
I think Podrick came, said stop and starting reasonning with her, that maybe they needed him alive for something

The episode was great. It's just the show has become so...random. Melisandre returning to the wall on a whim out of nowhere, the whole Dorne storyline and especially now with Ellaria poisoning Myrcella. This season feels pretty clunky TBH.

The music playing when Jon was bleeding to death on the ground was beautiful. Lena gave maybe the best performance of the entire show during her walk, that was so well done.

This episode, sadly, confirms that they victimized Sansa again just to redeem Theon.

Anyway I really can't enjoy this episode that much with them continuing to snub LSH and instead of just telling us she's cut like they did way in advance for Strong Belwas, they're just leaving us hanging.

Brienne killing Stannis was so predictable, as was Olly's part in assassinating Jon.

Pretty much But iirc the last stannis chapter in the books he was still stuck in the snow, but melissandre/shireen/selsye weren't with him

I don't think Stannis is out of the game just yet. I don't trust someone is dead til they show the body. And man did the Boltons wipe out Stannis' troops fast.
A whole season at Winterfell, and what has Sansa accomplished? What was the point? Besides her torment getting Theon back to being Theon? She learned nothing. She did nothing.

Also, I don't think Jon is not staying dead, lol. If it wasn't obvious before it sure is now with Melisandre being at the wall.

Now that the season's over:

S1>S3>S2>S4>S5, imo

WHAT IF they pulled away from Bri "killing" Stannis because suddenly LSH and her brotherhood show up having captured Pod? Why else would they cut away like that? Can they please put me out of my misery, I'm so tired of discovering LSH clues only to be let down.

The Mountain Reanimated looks scary as hell and **** them for doing that and not Lady Stoneheart.

Selyse's suicide is completely forgotten. I feel bad for her, at least she came to her senses and wanted to stop Shireen's burning.

Drogon gave Dany some sassy attitude. Bitch is starving and he's like "naww chickeeen".

But yeah really dislike them making Sansa device for Theon's redemption. They overdid his torture scenes in S3 and now they nullify a way bigger and more interesting character so he can redeem himself. D&D really love Theon and Alfie Allen, you can really see who their favorites are.

All these deaths, except for Myranda and Jon, were so random TBH.

Oh, on boats obviously, that was the initial plan when Viserys was still alive and she didn't have dragons, now that she's a dragon queen I imagine they'd get over their fear of water and follow her anywhere

I think overall it was the weakest season so far. A few mind-blowing moments but as a whole the writing is getting worse and worse.

Yeah it's definitely the weakest season. A few great sequences like Hardhome and Cersei's walk can't make up for the sluggish pace and the way they tried but failed to either condense or completely change up so many plot lines. Jaime and Bronn going to Dorne was 100% unnecessary as Dorne felt like a waste of time this season.

They need to step it up and get back to adapting some actually great plot twists that are still there in the released books (LSH + Manderlys and revenge for RW in general) + introducing great new characters like Euron/Victarion, because this season was rather clunky.

Just watched. Pretty entertaining, yet I felt like they were trying to squeeze everything important into a 55-minute episode and the final effect was kinda underwhelming. The episode seemed rushed.

I agree, the season was pretty weak, with some incredible moment, but as a whole, it was pretty disappointing. Too many useless moments, each episode was 50 minutes of borefest and everything enjoyable left for the last 5 minutes.

Dorne = lame. Could've been told in one episode.

Stannis = totally lame. What a loser, that whole attack was so desperate. Did he die in books? I was surprised they got rid of him so effortlessly.

Cercei - queen of the world. Always stays winning, no matter what. Icon. And Lena is a fantastic actress.

Jon Snow - not surprising, but I hoped he would enter the Ghost at the end.

Arya - amazing scene, probably the best in the episode.

Daenerys - boring, the dragon looks useless and not as powerful as it seems.

I have several questions to people who read the books:

Did Sansa die? Did she die in books? I don't get it. If so, what has she accomplished? Her story makes no sense at all.

Did Jamie's daughter die in books?

What's gonna happen with Cercei? I read she realizes no one in the family cares about her, yet in the episode she's been given a personal guard? Don't get it.
