Hibernophobia existed before America was even discovered.
I realise this forum likes to dictate its beliefs on everyone, but we all live in different parts of the world, including societies, races, religions and groups of people. Less than 8,000 members and we can't even co-exist and respect each other. Mess.

What do you mean? There's no excuse here. I was joking when I said she was racist. I do however think it's sad to see people, who care so much about these same types of comments regarding their own race, not condemning this sort of behavior. To me, it seems rather hypocritical, or at the very least detracts from their argument. It's elementary behavior.

Yeah but no one is being hypocritical. No one is defending her actions. Pretty much everyone agrees she deserved to be reprimanded or fired. The same cannot be said for police over exerting their power inappropriately over minorities. I'm one of those people who thought this woman should've been fired. I would've fired her myself if she said something like that.
The point I am making is that sometimes you have to live in someone else's shoes to some extent before you really understand their point of view.

That's fine and all but I'm arguing that in the last 300-400 years nothing comes close in scale to the slavery and the aftermath we are still living through....because black people have been institutionally locked out of higher education, wealth generation and fair and equal treatment under the law etc. in the 1950's they couldn't even go to the same schools or drink out of the same water fountains as white people (including the Irish).

Right.
Sis is more than likely reacting to the racially charged rude behavior she receives from privileged middle-aged White folk. It's not like that's an uncommon experience in the service industry for African Americans. I feel for her.

The zoo never called her comments racist... They were rude and unprofessional and that's why she was fired. Yall are blowing this out of proportion.

Call it a double standard and weep all you want. You and your White brethren will be alright. Meanwhile, I'm far more concerned about the double standard that results Black people being disproportionally harassed, attacked, and ultimately killed by the police. My Black brethren won't be alright.

I remember him saying he's in the eighth grade ( ) so it's kind of understandable for him to be a bit ignorant, lol.

But hey dont mind me.

We can, just not towards white people while living in the western world.
So many black people are racist towards other minorities and don't even see the problem with it.

The zoo only fired her because the story blew up and looked bad on them. They're a company and companies are supposed to think like that. It's the people who blew this out of proportion who got her fired.
And you guys are fighting over a ****ing word, you do know that?
Being prejudice or racist or whatever the **** you would like to call hating and generalizing white people or any race is WRONG. You don't get a free pass because your race is hated and generalized more. NO ONE gets a free pass to be a little close minded asshole to a whole race of people.

I mean, if it was white woman who said "serving these loud rude ass black people" i can imagine the outrage that would emerge...but at the same time what she said really isn't racist. eh.

If I were them, maybe I wouldn't exactly fire her but I'd at least question her for what she did and give her a warning.
Because I'm more than sure that if I were working for black people and did a similar thing, they would wipe the floor with me.
I'm not gonna deny the huge racism that still exists against black people until this day and is only growing in an ugly way, but based on enough examples I've seen, and with all respect to them, a black person thinking that white people "like to be oppressed" is kinda ironic.

You just don't talk about your work in public like that. And if you do, don't make it too easy for your boss to trace it back to you.
