It's goes both ways. I've experienced/witness mocking from African-Americans towards Africans than from anybody else (whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc). In turn, Africans act like they're above African-Americans. I've noticed that a lot of African parents tend to buy into the negative stereotypes of African-Americans. It's really sad.

This may sound controversial but I believe that AA look down upon Africans out of ignorance and Africans look down on AAs out of knowledge

Lemme explain. Although Africans maybe way too dismissive about the systematic rigging that hinders the black community from flourishing in America, Africans students still migrate and out perform AAs in their own education systems. So as far as they're concerned, anyone can "pull themselves up by the bootstraps", there is just something fundamentally flawed in your culture, (which is true to an extent). But ofc it's more complicated than that.
