Not sure why people keep doubting my opinions (which are closer to fact)... dd
I don't like it, but I have a gift. Sometimes it's a curse. Being so analytical and right.
We all know how I was right about Rih from like months before FFS.
Well I was also right about Gaga and the problems plaguing her career before Applause.

I feel sorry for Gaga. I see her more as a Marilyn Manson than a Madonna. She kind of incurred a serious problem when she decided to go the "little monsters" route with BTW.
Now she has to live up to the Gaga world she's created and please her Little Monsters, it's just going to shun the public away even more. Lady Gaga is a character artist. She's 100% image. Like Marilyn Manson, she's created a character as an artist she has to be for the rest of her career. She's going to run out of ideas.
Artists like Madonna and David Bowie are artists who play characters on their albums, at the end of the day Madonna is Madonna, David Bowie is David Bowie. Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson would be like if David Bowie had originally called himself Ziggy Stardust from the get-go and had to base his music off of the character Ziggy Stardust from the themes to the fashion, e.t.c.
Madonna and Bowie can be anything they want on an album, that's why they're known for re-invention. Lady Gaga and Manson really can't re-invent their character, it's the reason why she runs the risk of limiting themselves to a niche role in music.

Didn't Gaga barely outsell Katy last era in album sales? I think they were both in the ballpark of 6 mil, right?
Thinking Gaga is untouchable up against any of the pop girls today is outdated. It's not The Fame Monster era anymore. The anticipation for ARTPOP isn't anywhere near the anticipation for Born This Way.

I'm afraid for Gaga. Her last project was so polarizing and her main demographic is the fickle pop base.
