I can't help but feel like her canceled Pride performance was a bit much though. Iggy's not even mocking those people. You're being super insufferable and dumb with your opinions. And if you're saying that she's mocking the African American community with her music, you're wrong. Just because she is white and influenced by hip hop doesn't mean that she's mocking a race at all. Secondly, if anyone's mocking, it's you for placing African Americans in those groups when the community is incredibly diverse.

I'm not placing African-Americans in those groups but to deny that African-Americans do exist in those groups is just ignorant. Yes, other ethnicities exist in low socioeconomic housing projects in the South, but it's very clear what type of person Iggy is impersonating when she raps, and it's not ok for a white girl from Australia to do that in my opinion. If she was impersonating Asian people or "cholas" in the way that she rapped, it would be equally as offensive.

I was just paraphrasing what that guy said @22:40. Watch it, and if you don't want to watch it, at least read the quote of what he said.

Saying that Iggy appropriates black culture with her southern accent is basically nothing but assigning wrongful stereotypes to the black community. Not all black people speak in southern accent and not all people who speak with southern accent are black. Deserved. She's not really talented so people are quite offended by the success she's achieved so far. Her success can clearly be attributed to her race/white privilege, and the fact that she is the only white rapper who hasn't addressed it when she is using black culture is also offensive. But mostly she was supposed to be a flavor of the month artist, nobody took her seriously. She was the PSY of 2014 but just like any other joke or novelty act, we don't expect them to stick around for victory lap. She doesn't understand that her time as passed and she is grating on the GP.

The "blaccent" issue is so dumb to me. I've heard just as many white trash rednecks talk with that deep southern accent as I have blacks (obviously she took it from black rappers but).

The "blaccent" thing is made a racial issue by haters to give them more leverage to be "upset" when in reality she isn't only "stealing" from blacks with the accent.
