Of course racism/discrimination against black people is much, much worse than the attitudes/comments directed at white people. But you really don't need to change the definition of one word to signify that... Why not just call it systematic and institutional racism which is much more serious and debilitating than the mere racist comments against white people and then we can all move on with our lives?

the real question is, if you can recognize that systematic racism "is much more serious and debilitating than the mere racist comments against white people" why does it matter? it doesn't.
white people can move on from a racist remark. We can go back to our suburbs (or wherever) and go back to enjoying our privilege. we created that bubble for this purpose.
black people experience racism every day if they're "conscious" about the real issues and black people who aren't exactly aware of the technicalities are still going to experience a lot more dehumanizing racism than a white person possibly ever could.
notice I said "dehumanizing" racism. that's because "racism" towards whites can't possibly dehumanize them. there is no structure of power or influence that could back that sentiment up.
