Um, Insidious 3 was not good
I'm pissed, and this is coming from a major fan of the series. The first two both had some gimmick/twist to play on but 3 was just another typical demon movie, basically. It's a reduced rehash of the original Insidious that's less scary and with a smaller story arc. There were WAYYY too many jump scares, and only one of them actually got me.
I purposely avoided the trailer as not to ruin any scary parts and I was only scared once anyway. I'm sick of this. I did the same thing with Annabelle and was majorly disappointed, and I'm doing the same thing with Sinister 2 (had to cover my ears + look away in the trailer before Insidious 3) so that better not let me down.
The sentimental parts were cute. I liked seeing more of Elise's story. Also, when
she stood up for herself against the demons 
I was getting some life at "bring it on bitch".
But besides that, main characters were annoying, the story was very one dimensional, and the first two were just way better.
We need James Wan back. It's pretty clear that he had nothing to do with this film based on the total lack of originality
I hope that he comes back for a fourth film where they finally explore the red faced demon.
