Y'all Katy's tour is taking too much time, it's a mammoth. It's possible that she's trying out songs written by others she trusts in order to save time for her next album. If it's a great song, then why not?

Wasn't it registered in late 2014? And even still, Shake It Off/Bad Blood/1989 title was all known about way before then. And that was public knowledge. Katy is in the industry. I'm sure she knew about Bad Blood well before everyone else.

I don't think that's a v reliable way to tell tbh. It's accurate for the most part, but not always. I've been monitoring Kesha's BMI for about a year now, and Get Sleazy Remix has a BMI code in the 17's and it was released in 2011.

No idea why it would be registered so late. Also I swear I've seen some "new" songs pop up with old numbers (seven digits).

Anyway I think that producer is just being optimistic to be honest. Katy takes her damn time on making an album. And she always regarded her songwriting as an essential part of who she is. It's most likely a demo being pitched to her but do demos usually get published? Also, never in the history of her career has an officially released song been prematurely registered has it?

And alex, yes, Katy is definitely an insider and she doesn't need to check ATRL.
