Here's a line graph of the number of posts in each season of Platinum Hit. I broke out my calculator to find a line of best fit for the data [I'm using 949.5x^3-8979.1x^2+25134.3x-18041.4 which is incredibly off but more accurate than other lines when x≥5, plus I'm tired of trying lines good lord none of them are close]. Based on that line, if the trends of the number of posts were to continue, Season 8 would have 94,513 posts, Season 9 would have 173,044 posts and Season 10 would have 284,890 posts. And that's operating on the assumption that PH7 posts are literally going to stop right after I post this.
EDIT: I found a better line of best fit [275.8x^4-3464.0x^3+14861x^2-24359.4x+13168.0]. Based on this line, Season 8 will have 125,723 posts, Season 9 will have 282,277 posts and Season 10 will have a whooping 550,170 posts. |
This almost perfect exponential curve. 
Although I'm thinking that PH will have its ARTPOP era next season.

It's still not entirely accurate and the values are almost undoubtedly wrong for everyone, BUT it does use the correct values for the first 5 rounds + assumed values (based on position on the Platinum Chart) for rounds 6 and 7, so it should be accurate for the most part.
In comparison with pears' table, the Top 5 and Bottom 3 are identical. The middle four have been shuffled around a little. But it should be more accurate as data is only assumed for the last two rounds, which eliminates the decimal difference in the first five sets of scores.

Well this was not Born This Way  Next season will be Born This Way I think, it will start really well but slow down a little and then just do well but not amazingly, probably matching Season 6 or so.

And I honestly don't think that I'll be #1. Connor was #1 just two rounds ago (with a 0.2 difference over me, which is pretty big when talking averages and decimals), and my "assumptions" have used rather large score distributions, so I don't think that his songs would have scored as low as what I've assigned them based off the chart positions either, nor mine as high, and he's still only 0.14 behind me then. So I think that in actuality, he's probably still marginally higher than me.
What I did for rounds 6 and 7 was benchmark the highest score at 9.0 points, and then work down from there in lots of 0.2 (i.e. #2 = 8.8, #3 = 8.6 etc.) and it ended with the lowest scores receiving 6.0 and 6.4 points respectively. But in actuality #1 could have been 8.5, #2 could have been 8.4, #3 could have been 7.9 etc. so it's not entirely accurate, but 5/7 of the averages ARE correct and the order is correct, so it should be about 75% accurate.

Im cool with being #6 if that is in fact the case. Of course I doubt I will match that with my actual placement in the end, but we can always wish
Anyway, I remembered before that prior to this season starting, a few of us predicted our positions, I don't remember if it was in the songwriter thread or last season's thread, but I said #13 so I've surpassed what I expected  and out peaked myself from last season (thank God)

I’ve enjoyed being part of such an amazing competition. It’s been a f ucking rollercoaster ride to say the least but I’ve learnt a lot and enjoyed being in the company of so many talented people.
This week was tough. Not just the challenge but my life. I couldn’t put the time in that it required. I did try but everything I wrote wasn’t working so I scrapped it all. In the end, I wrote what I submitted in 20 minutes at 6am on Saturday on a complete whim just for the sake of submitting. I knew it was a mess then and I still think it’s a HAM so I’m not even mad. You’re all unbelievably gifted so don’t ever believe anything else. To have made it THIS far means a lot to me especially since you are all of high calibre and possess great capabilities. Thanks to everyone that’s motivated me, inspired me and helped me throughout.
Thank you to the judges for taking the time to read, review (most of the time) and rate everything I wrote. Some of you were a huge help.
I took on board everything you’ve said throughout so it was not in vain. You’ve helped me learn a lot so I truly appreciate what you guys have done for all of us.
A special thanks to my good sis TT for providing me with such a great opportunity and organising an exhilarating contest. PH has seriously increased my love for you. I thought you were great before but this has really shown me what a beautifully, kind and caring person you truly are. You’re doing a great job, boo! Thanks for everything
Although, I never placed top 10 during PH, I’m glad that I regained the love for writing. Writing was always my outlet when I was a teen but I lost it when I got into the adult world. To have found that again is everything and more. I will continue to write and hopefully you’ll see me in PH8!
