I wasn't born with the natural born ability to write a deep, thought-provoking story with flawless meter and stress, brilliant word play and rhyme choices, with a message that hasn't been explored before, all in less than a week.
This week was the hardest I tried on a song and I really thought I did well, but if I have ever done better I'd love to know. Like idk maybe "To You..." was better, but I didn't have to tell a story with that song.  |
Literally all your other entries were better. Your songs are always some of the easiest and most entertaining to read because your style is never contrived, never try-hard and always on point. You were clearly out of your comfort zone and away from your signature style this week, which I respect more than my review reflected, but it still screwed you over a bit.
I just want you to bare in mind this game is not just about songwriters who write with metaphors and fancy words. Eros had 2 smashes with none of that stuff. You've had 3 top 10 hits also. DripDrip slayed with a song called "Eggs". A good song will always be rewarded no matter how complex the content is.
