The thing about Taylor is you never know what you are going to get. Each album of hers has been different thus far. It's truly remarkable how she has been able to be such a huge multi genre Queen.
I really think that SN helped her in the long run. You have less radio friendly songs with that album, and it came right after her first major commercial success. SN was an experiment, therefore, it felt like a break. And especially a break from her commercial success. Yet, it was refreshing. Maybe she will do the same thing with the next album.

See, when you start out a real artist, and commercial success follows, you can kind of build your own path. But if you go the Rhi/Katy way and try to be a serious artist after all the fluff, then it doesn't work out all that well, as Rhi and Musgraves have proved

I kind of thought you saying that was a means of not wanting it to get you upset, I understand. I try to downplay her success a lot in that same manner, although, she keeps proving me wrong.
I don't know really anything about Calvin's music, but, if Taylor is involved I'm sure it will be good. Tbh, I always wanted Red (the song) to be a dark electro tune, maybe their music will serve
