This is kinda true. Teenage Dream is pure pop fluff but my God is it GOOD pop fluff. The best there is. And it's incredibly hard to make songs that catchy. The only ones on 1989 that come close are Shake It Off and Blank Space.

At the end of the day 1989 might be much better written but it's ideas are never grand or original, the lyrics are occasionally clever but she's not really saying anything interesting.

Urban radio is, like, the only thing played anywhere in the U.S. Or at least it is definitely the coolest. The only pure pop song I heard on the radio on my long ride home yesterday was Toxic (so I guess the Army takes a win), everything else was songs like Nicki Minaj, The Weekend, and the Kendrick Lamar remix of Bad Blood.

Blow is one of the best songs on BERNARD. It's great. The music video is fun yet sexy - it could have been a hit. One of my favorites on that album, along with Partition and XO. Heaven is the next best song.
