I'll tell you why it didn't take off: 1) The arrangement of the song is too cluttered in a time where we're stripping productions down. Her voice is pretty washed out in the soundscape, too. And 2) no one knows what an Octahate is. Doesn't help that her voice is buried under fifty marching batteries, so we can't even deduce what it is from the lyrics. Move that to a radio setting where most people's cars are only going to be able to reproduce STOMPSTOMPSTOMPSTOMP during the chorus and it's no wonder it didn't go anywhere on radio.
