Back when I was a regular poster on Billboard forums I used to follow charts closely till they made the damn rule change for harlem shake and gave so much power to youtube streams. That is when I dropped tracking the hot 100. All the artists now are concentrating as hard as they can to have a viral video instead of following their own aesthetic. They have like 3 videos of their songs on it, they keep promoting it, certain ones post playlists of their MVs for stans to watch
Also the stans keep repeating views just to help their faves go higher on charts.
