The army made excuses because they had to. The whole world was laughing at the woman who was clearly in pain and struggling, the tabloids trashing her, her parenthood, her family, the sidewalk she walked her dogs on. It was not until she was literally strapped to a gurney and institutionalized against her will that they realised that this was serious and no joking matter. Also it was hard to know what was real and what was not when the so called "insiders" kept telling Star magazine that she had a made up language that she used to speak with the trash cans. Don't talk about that era as if it was just monsters making fun of rih not releasing or Taylor fans dragging Katys album sales.
