All three of her albums are perfect. The Milk-Eyed Mender is a tough one to digest because of her signing style (she reminds me of Exuma and Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun). On Ys you can hear her Van **** Parks/freak folk influences and Have One on Me is her embracing 70's folk (strong Joni Mitchell and Vashti Bunyan vibes).
I read somewhere that her voice is more childish on her debut record? Not sure if that is true but I think I read something along those lines somewhere.

I just hope that the lack of inspiration isn't holding Joanna back from releasing new album. Break up with Bill Callahan is one of the reasons that Have One on Me was so poignant.
In anotherrrrrr liiiiiiiiife

We'd keep all our promises
Be us against the worrrrrrrld
OMG. If the drums/percussion was taken out of this song and was just the vocals and the piano, it'd be one of the best pop songs ever.
I'd love to have a version like that.
You probably haven't seen this performance because it was a private event, but it's really good. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xeQxwLHXo5E

I'd rather she take her time with it than rush it. She's one of those artists who has really set a high standard for herself with her previous releases, but doesn't have to worry about the commercial success.

I know but it has been 5 years since HOOM and I can't wait any longer.
