What?! It had some of the best entries of all time. "I Wanna", "7th Wonder", "Come Back", "Runaway", "Il faut du temps" and "Everything I Want" are all flawless. And the stage was great, with the catwalk and all.
Late 90s and early 00s was pretty terrible for Eurovision overall imo, it only started to get good again in 2003.
Anke was the best host ever tbh. And Azerbaijan is really just a country that's trying very hard to show the world that they're a modern country (which, in fact, they are!), I mean, the even built a brand new arena for the ESC and it's the best arena I've ever seen.
Azerbaijan modern?! LOL! They lock up more journalists on average than any other nation (I'm not kidding, look up cpj.org!) on Earth. Did I mention that they wanted to imprison some folks because they voted for Armenia during Eurovision which they considered to be "unpatriotic"? Their corruption rates are through the roof too. Just because they have a lot of oil money doesn't make them modern. Anyhow, I wouldn't mind if Sweden won this year.

Well at least they're trying ever since 2012, when they got heavily criticized for the poor human rights conditions, things have become a lot better apparently.
My 12 points predictions:
Greece -> Cyprus (or maybe Italy, let's see!)
Cyprus -> Greece (Maria-Elena was born in Cyprus)
Italy -> Albania (Elhaida won The Voice of Italy)
Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus -> Russia
Germany, Austria, Switzerland -> Slovenia ("Here for You" is the type of music the Mitteleuropeans enjoy the most)
Moldova -> Romania ()
Serbia -> Montenegro and Montenegro -> Serbia
Scandinavian countries -> Sweden
Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania -> Estonia
Australia -> Italy
do you think that there are possibilities greece to give 12points in other country that is not called cyprus?

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still gonna be a pig. I'll keep it at that
Anyhow, anyone know why Turkey ain't participating? I doubt it's for financial reasons. If countries like Moldova, Armenia and Georgia can afford it, surely Turkey has enough dough to send someone.

Apparently they don't like the voting system. They'll be back next year, though.

From what I heard, they got a new director who isn't fond of Eurovision.

Something about the voting system and I believe they tried to create their own contest.

People on TRT are pressed about Big 5, the juries and the 2011 non-qualification and they are the yes people of our government and they are very close-minded people
