"Promise" wasn't touched because promise was a heavy 80's R&B tune. Even Justin Timberlake AND Beyonce can't get a song like that in the Top 20 of CHR ("Until The End Of Time"). So the fact that Ciara took that into the Top 40 at that time PROVES she had some type of POWER weather Beyonce was around or not. Need I not remind you on the R&B Charts, "Irreplaceable" & "Promise" reigned together for 9 weeks.
"Promise" under-performing on CHR had NOTHING to do with Beyonce, let's not forget "Ring The Alarm" happening right before all this. To compare "Irreplaceable" to "Promise" isn't really fair, I will agree with you when you're holding Ciara's material from "The Evolution" against her though. That's where she messed up.
But Beyonce & Ciara could have co-existed on Pop radio together had she had "Fantasy Ride" material come, instead of "The Evolution" after "Goodies". I'm pretty sure.
Whether you wanna believe it or not. Ciara was an IT girl at Pop radio in "Goodies" era.

And wow lol Ciara only released Id would say 3 pop singles as the main artist and thats 12 step Get Up and Love Sex Magic. Rest were straight urban or crossover not really pop at ALL.
Also Ace, you sound like everyone else when it comes to Rihanna's huge success with GGGB, everyone says she came out when no was out which she did.
@ Mariah, yeah they did I remember hearing both and the remix version but not often.

2. You are delusional. Pete Pablo just came off of two big hits when he collaborated with Ciara. Her collaborations made her, just like No Air made Jordin. I'm not going to be delusional and deny it. At least Jordin can get more than 1 hit single without a collab, sis.

First of all, this is subjective and second of all, way more?That's not subjective, that's delusional.
Keri didn't even bother to promote IAPW on TV shows, she's kicking Ciara's ass on so many levels right now and all of Ciara fans are trying to hang on the past cuz' they know she's flopping hard now and nothing they will say will make it better.
I love both but Ciara fans should like rest [Some of Keri's as well], I really don't get the whole Ciara VS Keri stupid fights.
And like I said before, the fact Ciara was successful once only make it even worse that she'ss getting outsold and out perfromed by a new artist who got no fan base at all when Ciara should have alot of them and should be a big enough name to generate a hit alone...I hope she'll bounce back...She should have released PU instead of LAS.
And even if Keri's hits are cuz' of feats, her album sales are not only cuz' of that.
I think that if she would have gotten some more TV expo' she would have been more popular.

Lead single or not. Prince sounding R&B ballads do not do well on Pop radio, they just don't. First single, second, or fourth single. Justin had no problem smashing CHR before "Until The End Of Time" seeing how "Summer Love" wasn't even promoted and reached #1 RIGHT BEFORE THAT. It's just a song like that has never been THAT successful on the format. "Promise" & "Bed" were both MEGA hits on R&B that did nothing on Pop radio. That's what I was saying.
Ciara came back and got a hit with "Like A Boy" on Pop after "Promise", only to release a metaphor mid-tempo with 50 Cent after but it was still a hit there and after "Promise" bombed at Pop, so she still had some momentum going, just picked the wrong first single.
