Well, 12 hours is still good enough. I wrote one of my #1s in the game in 21 minutes, so if inspiration strikes, 12 hours is fine. Luke just needs to (probably) ditch the current direction and set his mind free to get inspiration from something else. But I haven't read the song obviously, so I don't know if it's as bad as he's making it out to be.

In all seriousness though, I was up til 2 writing a song. Then I scrapped it  . I wrote Fireflies in two hours though.

No, I'm actually quite the opposite. I'm the type of person who'll highlight all the great parts about the song, and not even mention the parts I don't like - unless you specifically ask me to, then I will. I think people mostly go to me for a bit of a confidence booster.
