Queen of Peace is literally the record of the year, holy **** this album is going to be amazing. Caught is also amazing i dont get the hates from some people.
Based on these snippets I don't think I'll like this album as much as Ceremonials
I really wanted to like it but none of the songs sound as good as Shake It Out, WTWGM, Never Let Me Go, Seven Devils or OIFAN
Guys, I love Florence to death and I love her for her big vocals and epic songs. Lungs is one of my favorite albums ever. I listened to the snippets and I have a problem:
Where are songs like Drumming, Cosmic Love, Howl or No Light, No Light? You know, big choruses and stuff...
I feel like this will be similar to lanas ultraviolence. A lot of people will be looking for the older sound but will be disappointed when they don't find it
I love it and the older sound. Florence's stuff has always been more about how the songs feel and they still feel very Florence if that makes sense.... Like it still feels epic and grandiose even if it is more restrained. It still has the powerful, evocative, imagery filled lyrics that she always has.
Also I get the Lana comparisons because she is super popular here so I've just come to expect that any Alt girls will get compared to her, but this album is giving me more Fiona Apple vibes. Like this is album her The Idler Wheel... and Ceremonials is her Extraordinary Machine in the sense that the production is very stripped back and it is very percussive and live instrument based. Florence and Fiona both have that sort of tortured bombast vocal style whereas Lana just kind of breathe sings.

I'm feeling sad right now as I had high hopes
Third Eye, What Kind of Man, Ship to Wreck. And apparently Queen of Peace builds tremendously though the snippet doesn't reflect that.
Don't completely dismiss songs by snippets. If I would have first only heard the first 1:30 of Never Let Me Go, I would have dismissed it. But that 1:30 doesn't reflect how much it builds by the end of the song.

Queen Of Peace is going to slay so hard!
This album as a whole is everything I hoped it would be.
She's taking a different approach this time and I'm loving everything I hear so far!
stop comparing lana to florence, while i enjoy lana's albums (ultraviolence is her best ever) there is no room for comparison. why?
1. if anything, florence released her first album before lana, born to die was compared to ceremonials, not the other way around.
2. lana doesn't sing her songs with the same power and strength as florence.
3. lana's lyrics are so basic compared to florence's. lana's songs revolve around death, depression, money and love. florence's lyrics are very metaphorical and she deals with her inner demons instead of using already cliché formulas to create songs that will appeal to tumblr girls and gay boys (while her music is still pretty good, ultraviolence is far better than born to die, but most of her songs sound the same as the main theme is the same)
4. florence's songs are really epic and grand, while lana's are really teeny-whiny sometimes.
i think after a lot of listens and comparing the three albums i think ill grow to enjoy the newest the best because it centers around reality instead of using imaginary situations. the only songs that florence has NOT topped so far are what the water gave me and seven devils but songs like that will never be topped. simple as that. on the other hand vs&s, long and lost, caught, delilah, what kind of man, etc. are far more relatable. but maybe this is just me since i'm really pragmatc and i dont really fantasise a lot.
anyways, the band's discography has no flaws. every song is magic and it makes you think.
