It was NOT consensual, she did not want to have sex with him and only did so because she would've been assaulted if she refused.

That being said, that scene was inevitable. Sansa could not have stayed a pure innocent virgin her whole life, especially not in the dangerous GOT universe. There was always going to be a time when she is pressurised for sex and unable to back out of it, and anyway this should lead to more character development.

We were lucky that it was shown offscreen and was fairly un-graphic for GOT standards.

What bugs me the most about the scene, aside from how creepily uncomfortable it was to watch, is that it looks like Sansa's salvation from Ramsay is going to be done via Theon, which I hate. Sansa has everything she needs to put that ****er down on her own, but the way they showed Theon's own trauma in having to watch the rape (which I did like as a way to avoid the disturbing explicit content) makes it seem like the show will have him snap and be the one to end Ramsay. I really hope Sansa will get herself out of this tight spot or with Stannis's help.

I think he's setting himself up so no matter who wins, he'll be the Warden of the North (or powerful) regardless, playing the game better than anyone else

Yes it's all about power for him. He is probably the only character in the entire series who, since Catelyn is gone, has no other motive but the pure strive for power. He knows Cersei is incapable of successfully playing the game on a longterm basis so he securing power where he can, starting with the Eyrie and soon the North. And he is smart enough to do so without ever attaching himself to anyone enough to be seen as an enemy. I've said it before he is one of the key characters in the series and how well Geroge Martin disguises that, but at the same time makes it so obvious is genius.

Y'all should re-watch the conversation between Littlefinger and Cersei, LF is throwing all type of hints with the way he talks and his mannerisms
As soon as he lays eyes on Cersei Lannister his verdict is clear: “I’ve been gone for 15 minutes and look at what you’ve done to the place!"
He isn’t siding with Cersei any longer than that meeting lasted tbh
