It's not new information that Avril doesn't actually write all the time like Taylor Swift or even spend lots of time in the studio like Beyonce. She said she doesn't write anything until she's bored and has nothing else to do. Without label pressure I'm sure she'd take even longer.

She might as well quit music then. There's no point in pursuing it if she has no interest in it, and (even more so) if there's no incentive for the GP to become interested in her again.
Even if Avril immerses herself in music again, she'll need a whole new marketing/rebranding blitz in order to make the populace (including whatever is left of her fanbase) care about her again. And, of course, Epic doesn't have the means to do that.
Even if Avril manages to crawl back to RCA, those fatsuits won't risk investing their $$$$ in rebuilding an unprofitable flop artist. Just look at what they did to Xtina and Shakira.

Ciara doesn't have a team full of crazed control freaks and micromanagers. Plus, Ciara isn't passive like Avril. The reason why GL got delayed so much.
