You don't need a big vocabulary. A song that uses a really basic vocabulary can work, too. That got Sam a #1, after all!

Yep and these are just the obvious options. If you dig deeper, there's about 10 - 15 different types of songs you can write.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I can write above love or death but war is a really tough one.

I think your problem is that you took this round too literally. That's the same thing I said to you when you asked about your original concept. You could easily write about love.

Peace could turn into a song about making up after a fight or finding inner peace thanks to your boyfriend or describing a moment between you too or saying that you think about him when life goes wrong and that gives you peace of mind.

War could be a song about fighting, breaking up, a song about conflicting emotions and dilemmas or even a song about sex.

I used a cliche in my song and I'm not even upset about it.

Actually I probably used like 5, but I'm basically the Katy Perry of this game without the #1s. I can get away with it.

You described your original concept as a song from the perspective of a soldier dying at war and I think your other concept was two people falling in love during war. The former is off topic, cause the main theme is death. The latter is off topic because the main theme is falling in love and that makes a contrast with a war as opoosed to being incorporated in the theme of war.
