I used to claim that I had a diverse taste in music, but I've resigned to the fact that I'm primarily a pop fan. I mean, I do still like a ton of different diverse styles, but I don't generally listen to any others as much as I do pop music, so it's whatever. I might as well just accept myself as a pop tart.

I could be wrong but I think Jackson was referring to female pop stars that are loved by the gays, i.e. Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, not a female pop star who is gay i.e. Mary Lambert.
