Gabourey was a non-factor in Freak Show, so I don't mind, unless Ryan had a groundbreaking character for her in Hotel.
I mean, sure, Queenie slayed in Coven, but she wasn't the best thing about the series.
The fact that she was a non-factor yet served the most appalling performance AHS has ever seen. She was great in Coven, but I'm not sure she's versatile enough to pull off multiple roles in the series.
Gabby has had some stellar performances prior to AHS.
But good lord there's no denying how terrible she was in FS. She completely and (literally) phoned in her character.
The script excuse holds no ground when we've had actresses nail a role with a weak story before.

I agree. The role definitely wasn't for her. Would have loved to see how she would have did as a character in the FS. I'd definitely say her and Emma were equally as bad during that season.
I'm sorry but you can't compare Gab to Emma (even though she's not so amazing herself).
Her scenes with Dandy legit brought me back to the auditions for The Crucible from high school.

I know I'm being over the top, but her moments were the only times I've ever felt secondhand embarrassment for an actor.
