Maybe it has something to do with the release dates. Idk them, just a possible explanation could be if Yeah! sales and chart peaks were divided between 2 years.

You get all the perks of being a successful musician without having the public be as invested in your personal life as they would be with the superstars of the industry ( aka the females). No, Yeah! was released in January 2004. It had the whole year, and he was on his 4th single moving to 5th single by the time 2005 came.

This Love even became a hit later than Yeah!. There's no way it was bigger in 2004 in any shape or form.

Yeah! went #1 in nearly EVERY country, while This Love went #1 in ZERO.

True but it's a double edged sword. It's also the reason why many of them can't get huge debuts but get good overall number due to the longevity of their singles. That could also be argued to be good thing too I guess but there is also another side.

Once the hits stop the success just goes away for them. On the other side the pop girls that created a devoted stan base by getting people to be invested in them personally can survive without constant hits.
