Like I said the movie was well made, but I didn't find the premise that scary. It felt very goosebumps at times.

The last movie that I thought was good AND scary was The Conjuring. Nowadays you usually get one or the other.

That being said, It Follows wasn't terrifying, but it was unsettling enough to
linger with you long after. At least that's the consensus among its viewers.

I get what you are talking about, I loved the movie's cinematography, plot, etc, but sometimes the execution fell a little bit short. However, it still is one of my favorite films in years. The last film where I found a premise to be terrifying was The Strangers and The Babadook and It Follows are the closest horror films I've seen to that.

The Conjuring was so stupid and cheesy, I'll never understand the praise for it.

Critics disagree with you! The plot was formulaic as far as plot and character development goes, but each moment of buildup and tension was executed to a T. There's literally no arguing that.

I loved the Conjuring. It was scary but I also liked the characters in it. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are amazing and make you root for The Warrens.

Have yall seen the Joyride movies?

I love the first one. The second one was surprisingly good too. I just finished the thrid one on Netflix and it was just meh. They turned it into Saw on a highway.

I still can't get over how bad it was

maybe that was the point of the movie

it did not scared me at all I was mostly laughing while watching it... Another cringed-worthy scene was the guy being ****ed/killed by his mother

I got more scared by watching the trailer

A lot of people disagree with me, so I understand that.

I agree with what you said, but still, it was way overhyped and not scary at all in my opinion.

It Follows is far more critically acclaimed than the overrated mess that The Conjuring was, which makes sense since It Follows is a far better movie.

The Conjuring was ruined as soon as they decided to do an exorcism scene in the most generic way possible. The last 1/3 of that movie was a complete disappointment and cop out.

Sis, we agree about everything on It Follows, but The Conjuring doesn't deserve those lashings. Yes, it is formulaic and predictable, but everything was done so well. From the performances to the atmosphere setting, it was all handled with care. As long as you didn't go in expecting anything profound or innovative, nobody should have been disappointed.

The first 2/3 are amazing. They had me expecting it was the best paranormal movie of the millennium. But when they went to do an exorcism and the wife's face changed and all that **** it all went downhill. They had something great and ruined it. I'm sorry but that ending took the movie from a 10 to a 7 for me. EVERY paranormal movie goes the same damn way these days and The Conjuring nearly broke that, but it didn't.

Don't get me wrong, the scares were (besides the ending) amazing, the cinematography was wonderful, great acting, and the atmosphere was perfectly done for a paranormal movie, but it's like the writers wanted to call it a day with the ending and picked one from the cesspool of bland horror endings.

Even more disappointing was how they took Annabelle and made that offensively awful spinoff. Can't believe I spent so long avoiding trailers and TV ads and then spent my money on that piece of trash, but that's a different story.
