I watched it too and I thought the movie had a lot of suspense and tension but the ending was just meh. I mean, the end where you find out "It" was still following them wasn't anything shocking or surprising. I thought it was going to be some big twist ending. Don't get me wrong, the ending flowed perfectly for the movie but it wasn't anything special (the ending).

But you don't know if it is "It". It could be a normal person just walking down the street. I think the ending perfectly expresses the paranoia Jay and Paul have to live with for the rest of their lives because they don't know if "It" is ever coming back to them. We don't know if the person in the end is "It" or just a normal person. And put into context that the whole movie idea is basically a metaphor on death and the harshness of life, it makes perfect sense.

It's better than the first movie. Not really scary tho, more action and stuff. But I love it anyway.

Finally saw It Follows and I must say, I was not disappointed, AT ALL.

It really lived up to its hype. It's so different & thrilling. An exceptional horror movie.

It was beautifully shot, the score was amazing, and some scenes were genuinely creepy, but overall I felt it was very dull and uneventful. Not very scary either imo. And that ending, wtf was that ****?

The opening was creepier than the rest of the movie imo.

That scene you are referring to is meant to be cringy and incredibly stupid.
The director explained this:

“It’s the stupidest plan ever! It’s a kid-movie plan, it’s something that Scooby-Doo and the gang might think of, and that was sort of the point. What would you do if you were confronted by a monster and found yourself trapped within a nightmare? Ultimately, you have to resort to some way of fighting it that’s accessible to you in the physical world, and that’s not really going to cut it. We kind of avoid any kind of traditional setup for that sequence, because in more traditional horror films, there might be a clue that would lead them to figure out a way to destroy this monster. I intentionally avoided placing those. Instead, they do their best to accomplish something, and we witness its failure. It’s probably a very non-conventional way of approaching the third-act confrontation, but we thought it was a fun way to deal with it.

It makes me enjoy the film much more knowing it was meant to be that cringy and stupid

Like I said the movie was well made, but I didn't find the premise that scary. It felt very goosebumps at times.
