down a dead-end street. And when Taylor described what the lyric meant, she explained how it's a metaphor for getting some really great only to come to a dead end with it. That's actually some nice figurative language and is much better than, "Umm... this song is about a boy who is like an alien."
That's one reason I like Taylor more--even in the songs you know she's releasing just to have a few bops on the album, she still has great figurative language and deep meaning behind the lyrics
