There has to be an announcement. There's no big Wii U game coming this Christmas and they'll probably release Pokemon Z for 3DS. There's been Animal Crossing DLC for MK, Isabelle has been everywhere and we had that plaza which clearly shows they've got the models. It just has to be.
They probably learnt from their mistakes of announcing New Leaf 2 and a half years before the release and not giving us any real tea until 2012.
