Metacritic scores for the top 20 selling albums in 2005 and 2015 that had metacritic scores (just a few from each year didn't). Since Metacritic is an overall gauge of what the professional critics are all saying, combined.

I don't think it means quality hasn't declined. I think it means that critics rate music relative to the standards of the time.
