It's no surprise Shawn Mendes' sales declined so much. The album was bought by his online fanbase (who unlike the GP, tend to buy the album first week).
I tweeted Gary and Silvio because this is "Uptown Funk's" third straight week at #2 after 14 weeks at #1, not its second. Also, UF extends its record for stay in the Top 2 (now 18 weeks) and reaches 20 weeks in the Top 3, which breaks "Smooth's" 19 weeks set back in 1999-2000.
UF seems almost certain to get at least one or two weeks in the Top 3, since songs 4-6 are descending, and SUAD ay #7has some catching up to do. Hopefully it can get at least one more week at #2, because TQ's gains at AI weren't that great today. I guess we'll have to see how quickly UF descends on its metrics from here.
Derulo collected his first three Hot 100 top 10s on his first three tries, with "Whatcha Say" (No. 1, one week, 2009), "In My Head" (No. 5, 2010) and "Ridin' Solo" (No. 9, 2010). He returned to the tier last year with the No. 3 hit "Talk Dirty," featuring 2 Chainz, and the No. 5-peaking "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg.
Lol at Derulo ha reemergence.
I thought he was done after 'Whatcha Say' days.
Out of the songs in the top 10, currently, if I had to choose just one of them.... I'd say "Shut Up and Dance" will be, or at least is a contender to be, the "Song of the Summer" for 2015.
It peaked in sales and it's already huge on radio. Summer is still 2 months away? Why do people think SUAD could even contend for summer song? It will be declining by end of may
