I'm really hoping that this album is something fresh and new and not formulaic and generic like E=MC2 was.
All the ballads on that album were dirt compared to TEOM. She really brung her A-game that time, but she really flunked with E=MC2
I agree with the person say that they hope this album will be more "I Stay In Love".
I like the idea that Mariah switched it up to a more poppish sound, but it was just too much, and she abandoned her signature sound. I hope her album is a little mix of both.
I'm very excited about this album especially because I was soooo disappointed with E=MC2. I like some songs, but it's garbage compared to TEOM. I think E=MC2 is probably her worst album, but I have a feeling we're gonna get more E=MC2 than TEOM.

The New York Post reported that Carey covered Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" for her new album. On May 20, Carey announced on her Twitter page the title of her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. That same day, L.A. Reid played a song from the album titled "Hate U" during an Island Def Jam Event.
