Really I mean I credit them for trying a new tactic but other than the minuscule jump scares it feels like it just drags on, most of the time all we were watching was the bitch type stuff to her bf. Lost my interest quite a few time.

Does anyone else feel like the horror genre is losing its game? Nothing is truly eery and spine chilling anymore, everything is jump scares and hauntings and I’m a bit bored of it. Hell, I think Cabin in the Woods is one of the best horrors we’ve had the past few years and that should really say something.

Every now and then, we get some good ones (like The Babadook), but for the most part, I agree that horror is suffering.

I've been wanting to say horror's growing old for a while, but I feel like that's just because I've grown desensitized and nothing really scares me anymore.

Unfriended has me conflicted. The concept was awesome and is a really cool way of storytelling (loved the Modern Family episode like that), and the general plot was interesting, but the storyline ****ing sucked. It wasn't really scary... we were laughing more than being actually scared. And what the **** was with the antivirus game? What was the point of that? I think they could've done a little more with the story progression. I didn't like how much they relied on Never Have I Ever. It dragged on for so long. And lastly, the ending pissed me off. The laptop screen closed and yet there was still a camera there to show us Blaire dying? Nice way to break the concept at the actual last ****ing second.

I would give it a 7/10 just because the concept was enough to carry it, but it's a shame they relied on it so much that they put minimal effort into the storyline itself.

Went to the horror convention today, it was pretty cool. I met PJ Soles (Lynda from John Carpenter's Halloween) Sig Haig (Captain Spaulding from Devil's Rejects) William Forsythe (Sherrif Wydell from Devil's Rejects) Bill Mosely (Otis from Devil's Rejects) and I peed with Kane Hodder (Jason from various Friday the 13th films) cause he was in the bathroom at the same time I was lol. Seems to me like most horror fans don't really care too much for modern horror. Probably the most popular modern horror movie that people who were at this convention seem to love is Trick r Treat. They had tons of Sam memorabilia.
