The pop star feuds are all lame, cause there is no fire to it. It only scratches on the surface.

Tupac vs. Biggie is the obvious and most heated one. Both actually died. Like, would popgirls ever dare to go this far?

The Stones vs The Beatles although it was more fan-driven, like the whole Punk Rock vs Pop movement in the 70's/80's.

Tori Amos hated Courtney Love cause she "allegedly" ended her brief romance with Trent Reznor from the Nine Inch Nails. Ffs, she even called a song "Professional Widow" that was directed at Courtney.

Also, Trent Reznor from the NIN basically hated almost the whole bunch of popular rock artists like The Smashing Pumkins, Courtney Love, REM, Limp Bizkit.

Why would the OP list MJ vs. Prince in the OP when they never had rivalries in their music, it was media based. As we've mentioned multiple times, you're having a hard time understanding the topic. This is media based rivalries. 2Pac and Biggie had a bigger presence in media than Xtina vs. Brit.

Additionally as mentioned, the rivalry took both their lives, had documentaries, and spilled to other rappers which are more as to why it had a bigger media presence no matter 'how global!!111!' it was.

As aforementioned, if we're factoring fanbases investment in the feuds, only then can we factor in those stan wars of the bubblegum era. If we're strictly talking artist v. artist, then yes - Shakur/Wallace take the cake.

Britney had one until 2009, so let's not. And what are some examples of this "fan investment"? Tupac/Biggie had people actually fighting.

You really out here trying to make this East Coast/West Coast a cultural thing when the biggest fans of either rapper were largely concentrated on either side of the country. People were not getting pressed in Long Beach or Bedford Stuyvesant to run their Walkmans and test their allegiance. It was NEVER that real.

The general black sentiment/reaction to their demise was met with sadness from fans and disapproval/a significant remove from older generations. God.
