Taylor's next album could be anything really. From her accounts, 1989 was inspired by Eighties music due to conversations about music she had with Jack Antonoff. So maybe the music direction of LP6 will come from music discussions she has with people she is hanging around with now. So perhaps Lorde, HAIM or even Calvin Harris could play a role in what her next album sounds like. She really likes Imagine Dragons, and Kendrick Lamar but also people like Hozier, James Bay and Borns so she might want to do something involving them or their sound. Makes it hard to predict. It's a long way off anyway.
Her eras are always so exciting because of the fact that she is able to create a song in any genre of music. It's always a big guessing game "What Taylor will come out with next??"
I love my fave I'm so happy that I stan for someone who is a true artist

exactly! i see some experimental, indie or alternative pop rock stuff coming out of this. hopefully even a little folksy. no matter the genre, i don't want her to completely lose that singer-songwriter aspect to herself that she kinda changed up/lost a bit of with 1989 :/
it's not fair though, because you're being very biased and one-sided. it's undeniable that they go about writing about relationships very differently. taylor writes very specific to her life and makes it very obvious who she's talking about, whereas katy's are less personal and more general, lacking specificity of person vs. person. and honestly, i prefer taylor's method of songwriting, but that's the reason she gets scrutinized moreso than people like bruno, ed katy, etc. because they don't write as personal as taylor does. so when she says, "my writing hasn't changed. i've always written really personal songs about really person events," she's not lying, BUT it's exactly why everyone knows exactly who she's talking about.
and the little references she adds in her lyrics, music videos, or hidden liner notes don't help her case. it's a double-edged sword: she wants to write really personal lyrics, which she does, but of course that will lead to people knowing who she's talking about.
Disagree entirely. Fans of some artists like Rihanna for example, who don't write their own material and thus don't release songs based on their own life, can take the stance of criticising someone using muses. They can express disapproval of personal experience acting as inspiration for songs and say it is exploiting personal relationships, and they can make that claim without being hypocrites. Fans of Katy Perry cannot though. Nor fans of Ed Sheeran, Adele, Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake etc.
KatyCats cannot accuse Taylor of 'playing the victim' and 'milking her relationships for profit' without hypocrisy. Katy Perry wrote a song about feeling depressed over being divorced by Russell Brand called By The Grace of God. She has publicly admitted the song is about her divorce. She performed it at the Grammy's.
KatyCats cannot criticise Taylor for writing songs 'dissing her exes' without being hypocrites. Katy has written tracks such as Ur So Gay, and Hot 'N' Cold and Circle the Drain which she says are about her ex-boyfriends.
It is quite straightforward. In their desperation to bash Taylor, KatyCats were being hypocrites in that thread. The evidence is indisputable. KatyCats should be the last fanbase to take those positions. You can call me biased if you like, but you cannot call me a hypocrite.
I was disappointed in what you posted there because you are better than that. You know full well the media has lied about Taylor's dating history and when she complains about this, you call her a hypocrite? Really? She is a hypocrite because she wants the media to actually report truth instead of lies? The media should damn her for what she has done, not for the lies they say she has done, with their BS slideshows of fictional relationships they use to **** shame her in order to manufacture some degree of scandal. Since when is slanderous BS something we should have to accept from the media?
Taylor (and her PR Management Paula) are at fault for meekly sitting by and allowing this to go on for years without addressing it directly. Now she is addressing it and calling the gossip media out for their BS and attempts at blatant defamation, she should be applauded and not accused of hypocrisy by so-called stans. I want her to go even further and sue these clowns for defamation with their BS 'unnamed sources'.
When Taylor gives an interview in which she publicly supports the right for other female artists to sing about whatever they want, and she gets subsequently attacked by KatyCats taking hypocritical potshots, you can see the transparent agenda of the pressed.
Yea, ignore them, they are childish AF, I wouldn't waste the time of day, you, Dollas, & TayGod are too intelligent to be arguing with those imbeciles, they won't understand your valid points. I find it very interesting that every time Taylor does an interview, ATRL has the need to pick apart every sentence she says. They are so bothered yet so interested in her at the same time
She even defended the right of other female artists to sing about whatever they wanted in that interview. She is just so evil.

i think you missed a lot of what i was saying, though. yes katy wrote BTGOG, and obviously it's about russell, but no one criticized her for it, because it's mature. what i'm saying is, take BTGOG and DJ. both songs about exes that hurt them, but they're very different, don't you think? i'm not saying one is better than the other (though, lyrically, DJ is a masterpiece and BTGOG is simply great). i'm just saying that taylor explicitly called out someone, and probably over exaggerated, whereas katy took a more mature stance on the subject, imo.
or Style. like, obviously it's about him. or the "paper airplanes" line in OOTW, or the "maple lattes" thing with ATW. do you get what i'm saying? it's almost like taylor does it on purpose something with the clues she gives, and i know the defense will be that she's trying to make it meaningful and personal and well-detailed, but the consequence of that is being scrutinized and analyzed down to every last detail! it's just naturally what will happen, so she can't complain about that.
though i get what you're saying in your post, and i apologize for not properly explaining what i was meaning to say--that's my fault.
she doesn't deserve backlash and she doesn't deserve humiliation. likewise, i get what she's saying about the media improperly reporting about her love life and how that can ruin relationships sometimes. while i get that and while it's not fair, it's also just a part of the business and there's nothing she/we/anyone can do about it, you know? i think that's what katycats were trying to say--that she shouldn't complain about it because it's useless. so maybe tact wasn't right or handled well, but the point is inarguable, don't you think?
(btw, i appreciate you calmly and mostly politely responding to me, as opposed to the usual ******** i get from some people in the base when i disagree with something about taylor. thank you)
Edit2: You guys know I hate the backlashes of NEVER EVER, and I like the positive impact of SIO, but musically I think NEVER EVER>SIO. Edit4: The best way to do the comparison is playing them back to back, you guys can also try it. Edit5: Both beats are sick, my body likes NEVER EVER's a little bit better.
Edit3: Considering the longevity of NEVER EVER in Japan, curious to see how it will be performed in Japan 10 days later
Edit6: NEVER EVER truly was Taylor's first Hot 100 number one.
