Ok so since you have exclusive rights to the track that means you don't need anything signed off to copyright the song. But my advice to you would be wait until you have a catalog of music to copyright at once, and instead invest on getting your own LLC up and running so you can litigate as an entity regarding anything to do with your music.
Copyrighting is worth it only if you have potential assets to protect, for now registering it under BMI/ASCAP/SESAC should give you good enough "protection" until you start looking at distribution.
The only thing registering your copyright does is file it in the Govt. You can get that anytime, even if you're in the process of disputing a copyright claim as long as you have your music registered and recorded with proof of ownership.
Like what you have now is good enough, until you have a catalog to protect via publishing and what not. Plus if you yourself wont be publishing your music cuz you want to go with a bigger publishing company, then they ask you to transfer copyrights anyways, and if you don't have it, they do it themselves.
