Just finished Trespassing, a fantastic sophomore album. Outlaws of Love, Underneath, and Broken English were my faves I think. I'm excited for his new album
Katy is only 4 years younger than Christina, but her FIFTH single did just that
I don't remember Katy Perry being active in the 90's or in 2/3 of the 2000's like Legend X.
FUN FACT : Christina's final single from her third album in 2006, when singles were a non-factor, sold 2x as much as Katy's final single from her third album in 2014
Hard to compare, the late 90's market was very different. Physical sales were low, there was no streaming etc. I think her biggest hit is Beautiful, followed by Genie, WAGW and Dirrty (ww) in that order

Beautiful had the impact. But Genie had the sales.

But Dark Horse, Roar, Firework, I Kissed A Girl, Hot N Cold, and California Gurls have all outsold every Xtina single to date

But all of them had excellent promo and catered to radio. The last time Christina did tracks like that was 2000 and she got 3 #1 hits and a Grammy out of that era
You can't compare 2010's singles to 90's and early 00's singles, but Christina's hits were on the same level of most of Katy's hits
