2008Ga was everything. 2009Ga was everything. Even 2010Ga was everything. Ugh, it's like she exhausted every scrap of her creative mind during that time period.
She went from 45S=RussianRoulette, BBHMM=Hard, and now American O2=Rockstar 101
This is what happens when people without talent try to imitate people with talent
Listen HARDER
45S outpeaked Russian Roulette. The difference is, RR is actually a good song and is still low-key remembered in terms of Rihanna singles. Whereas 45S is trash and is already forgotten.
BBHMM and AO have done way worse than their counterparts. I don't see a Rude Boy in sight this time.

Wait a second, I saw that guy live He opened for Imagine Dragons (my friend paid for my ticket so who cares!) and they were AWFUL He kept jumping all around as if he were a big deal and trying to hype up the crowd to NO AVAIL, and their music was absolutely dreadful, a horrible mix of 80s synth rock and rap and just unlistenable I thought he was an overdone hack back then but I didn't know he was THIS bad
Born This Way was a product of her making the best of whatever she had left in her and resulted in a pretty solid album with minimal flaws, but flaws nevertheless. Whereas she was clearly empty during ARTPOP. It took her far longer to record than TFM and BTW, and the result wasn't anywhere near as good.
Thankfully she's had a creative break and has let her creative juices stock up while she put out an album of covers (zero creativity required there) and so her next record (with RedOne back on the team) should hopefully be fantastic. At least BTW level.
It must have been Alex da Kid who convinced Rihanna to let this tool pen her song
Between him and Kanye they are going to have her doing theatres in a couple of years
This tbh. The ONLY move for Rihanna if she wants a career after this is to scrap everything she has so far (45S, BBHMM, AO, James Joint, all the recorded tracks we haven't heard etc.), and hit up Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Ester Dean, StarGate and Calvin Harris and go back to pop.
Oh yeah Imagine Dragons were cute at the beginning but their new stuff is so ****, like what the hell was I Bet My Life? Did someone ask them to do a background song for a safari? And not even a good safari sounding song like Some Nights, a **** one.

¿"her"? the creative mind was the team behind her. after they dropped out, there was nothing left.

Speaking of Fun., the way Jack Antonoff ended up winning He is a successful producer now and those 1989 royalties must be great. Nate Ruess wrote two hits and now his solo material is bombing HORRIBLY. And the other one
I doubt they will make another album and if they do it will flop, they really wasted their momentum. Shame because they were the only actual rock band to make it big in the last few years.
Going to those horrible pop producers would put Rihanna in an even worse position. The music is not the problem. The issues is that nothing is being executed well. The era is going by as a non-event. She had momentum with FFS and let it go. The best method would have been to announce FourFiveSeconds and the album (along with artwork, a date and a title) at the same time. Drop the album two weeks later. Release an INTERESTING song (like the "A Night" song or "Ain't None of this **** Promised") three days before the album to increase hype.
EDIT: Better yet, she should've released a teaser video for the album featuring something like A Night in the background. Something with cool imagery and her saying something "deep" as an overlay. Whatever happened to that shoot she did where she ran into a crowd of fans in Paris?

Yeah I didn't see that at all. He is touring with Charli XCX, collecting Taylor and Sara Bareilles royalties, and just Bleachers is better than Nate solo stuff which sounds so corny thus far. I agree it's a shame because fun. was supposed to be the new Queen (the band). Wonder if they and Adele will ever release anything again
she used to be likeable
