GC would need an uptempo remix to be successful at Top 40. It could go straight to AC and maybe Hot AC as it is. Maybe making GC a Rhythmic ballad would be enough instead of resorting to an awful dance remix like AOM, Stay, and FFS.
NYN only had a slightly changed remix, like Breathe and You're Still The One, and succeeded in most markets without resorting to the dance remix, like Breathe and YSTO.
Cruise had a major change, and If I Die Young was changed from a Country ballad to a soft Rock ballad.
Before He Cheats is the only Country song to successfully crossover this millennium without a remix, although Take Your Time is trying to do the same thing right now.
Technically WANEGBT did so, but that song was not very successful at Country, and a Country version was released a week after the original version.
