Yes, that's true, it seems like yesterday these songs were smashing. But a lot of people don't even expect artists to last that long. For example go back to 2010 and people would be surprised to know One Direction, Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, Flo Rida, Pitbull, etc. would still be successful in 5 years. The prospect of them still being successful today would be as laughable as the prospect of Taio Cruz or The Wanted still being successful today.

Also, off the top of my head Rihanna (almost), Train, Ludacris, Beyonce, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake were all famous 10 years ago.

I kinda enjoyed 2010, but if you put a list of the year 2000 and 1995 next to it, it truly pales in comparison.

It was dreadful besides the only highlights were Gaga and Katy that year for me

Dynamite was a bop then though. It was MASSIVE my senior week. Same with that Rihanna Eminem song. 2011 on ward was much more interesting to follow IMO. Though I started following charts in early 2007 or late 2006. Back when media base charts were free to look at everyday. All access is nice and free too, but the real media base >>>>>>

I love 2010 for bringing Kesha her most successful era at the very least.

But really it just had an overload of club songs.

Hey have you heard of Jon bellion? If you haven't please listen to "Luxury" it still slays me to this day and it's almost a year old. Reminds me of old Owl city and the female vocalist at the end slayyyyys. Sounds just like Gaga to me.

Does anybody think that there's a chance Girl Crush could eventually cross over to Pop? I believe we haven't had a major country crossover hit since Cruise, and Girl Crush has been selling really well lately plus it sounds less like a traditional country song and more like a slow HAC song like Need You Now. I'm really hoping it can be popular outside of just the country format because despite the fact that I hate most country music, I absolutely love this song.

I really hope so, but expect a dance mix for some of the stations lol. If it can finish the week in the I Tunes Top 5, it would rank #3/4 on HDS, and I'm assuming ODS and Vevo S will pick up dramatically. I gave a summary of how "Need You Now" reacted after its performance on the 2009 CMAs on I Tunes thread if you want to read it.

I would like GC to reach the Top 10 next week, but we have to see how long the song can maintain this momentum. The fact it's stayed over 0.5000 against SYA for over 14 hours is incredible, given the fact the latter song sold nearly 400k downloads last week.
