I think TT said that it's really for you to judge. Just be mindful that there will be 40-50 entries that the judges have to go through so all that's expected is a verse and a chorus, you can add in a pre-chorus or post-chorus if you feel it needs those extra few lines to make it really stand out but writing a full song isn't what the challenge is and may not be a good idea. 20 lines all up should be more than enough.

That shouldn't be a problem in future rounds at all when we can write full songs. But this round is an exception just because there's so many contestants. Although TT said that there won't be any mass eliminations and they'll be gradual (maybe 5 contestants? I don't know don't quote me on that) for the first round(s), so we may not be able to write a full song for a few rounds. Not sure. You'd have to ask TT about that.
Am I the only one who wants to try just for fun? It seems I'm like the only in here to never have written a song in my life.
This was literally me last season. I'm pretty sure there are a few others this season who are in the same situation as you though! It's a good place to be because you're very flexible and mouldable. If When you make it through to the next round make sure to read every bit of judge feedback, it really does help!
Then when I go to sleep the thread moves an average of 40-50 pages.
