Lay won't leave, at least not for a long time. SM is splurging on him to basically bribe him not to leave. They've built a custom-made personal studio for him in his house in China and altered his contract to allow him to manage his own solo business activities in China and work with people outside of SM. Haven't heard of any other SM idols getting that level of treatment (though I guess some definitely have in the past, e.g. Homin).
The interesting bit will be to see which member(s) of EXO-K abandons ship first. None of them have the whole "ugh they're traitorous foreigners so it's to be expected" thing to hide behind so when one of them eventually leaves it'll probably reach like JYJ levels of notoriety in Korean media.
Basically, and he's one of the few who's actually believable when he's said countless times that he won't leave EXO. He might not be as happy as he once was but he's still passionate as hell about the group so his mind is set on it, despite getting the opportunity to expand his solo activities. But if you ask me, that was more due to SM realising his potential than anything on Lay's end.
random but I really appreciate companies who upload kpop releases onto Spotify. I hope more and more follow suit. I used to use Genie when I had a samsung but then i upgraded my phone so I couldn't help my faves' digital sales anymore
why not just...download them instead of listening to advertisements...and relying on streaming...
SM use to have it's compilation album on there with like 200 songs including DBJYJ, CJSH, early Boa and those weird group summer songs they use to do that secretly slayed but then removed it from spotify
do you mean the bootleg one that some random Chinese people uploaded under a label that "sounded like" SM Entertainment but had some weird capitalization or w/e?
There's clearly more behind doors with EXO? Wasn't there a rumour just the other week a K member is causing "friction in the group" due to having an underwhelming amount of success compared to other members? Like I know rumours in K-pop can be ridiculous, but the group seems so disjointed and off with one another. I love EXO and want them to stay together, but something must have got messed up in the making.

Maybe the fact they were just thrown together at the last minute before debut had something to do with it. Like most of the members in the final line-up didn't train together or anything since most of the original team ended up quitting
